My female Maltese got pregnant on her first heat.  My male is 4.  This happened the third week in August.  How long will she be pregnant for?  She is 5 lbs and my male is 8lbs. Is there anything special I can do for her while she's in labor?  This is going to be my first time experiencing this.  Her stomach is hard and I can feel the puppies when she sleeps next to me at night moving around in her belly.  Please give me some insight.  This happened accidently and I want to make sure she is going to fine.  Thank you for your time.

So your female is young then? Extra care and attention should be given as young dogs can reject and/or kill their pups if they are not physically and mentally mature.

Gestation is 63 days.

Fish oils, quality kibble and lots of fresh water is what she needs.  You also want to have a whelping box ready for her to safely and quietly whelp her litter.
