Dog pregnancy.

My dog is a maltipoo (17 months old) and had her puppies on Sunday, April 10, 2008 and had 4 puppies. When she had her first puppy she didn't open the sac so i had to and cut the cord off, then she started doing everything that was right. But today ( Wednesday, April 13, 2008) she's panting, going under my bed last night and scratching the floor like she's digging. She's bleeding out of her vagina just a little bit. Is this all normal. I really need an answer ASAP! I'm afraid she's going to die.... and her puppies.

Hi Taylor. The bleeding part is normal after whelping as long as the dog doesn't have a fever, won't eat/drink, and as long as the discharge doesn't have a foul odor. As for the panting and digging, you need to get your girl to the vet. She may still have a puppy or placenta inside of her, which can cause death if left untreated. Only a vet can help you with that.
