Question
HI Joyce i am in tough with breeder of German shepherds.the bitch is six and this is her fourth litter.the third litter resulted in only three being born and the rest where dead.she has just had a c-section and only three survived again. The mother is in the vets so would that mean the breeder will have to feed the pups till the mother recovers.will this make a difference to how strong the pups will be.Would you go to another breeder for a puppy or will the pups be ok.i would be grateful for any advice you can give me thank you Tracy

Answer
Hi Tracy

It would depend on if you were looking for a female to use as a breeder in the future.  If that was the case, it's important to know the attributes of the Dam.  If she has smaller litters, and request c-section, my question would be why?  GSD aren't prone to sections.  If it's because the female has had four litters in back to back, that's another story.

If you are looking for a male or strictly a pet, it would be fine.

Also, a pup out of this litter will have to be socialized to no end.  It will be imprinted by people and it's littermates (who also have no manners).
