Question

bella I have a shih tzu that will be 59 days pregnant on sunday and is doing well. I am having 13 people coming to spend a few days with me on her 63rd day. my question should I keep my girl isolated from everyone? She is very used to people visiting as I live in at the beach and always have alot of traffic in the summer months. I do have a very large house so that she could be isolated and not have any interaction with anyone. I don't want her to be stressed in any way. Thanks

Is your female high strung or nervous? Is this her first litter? If the answer is no to these, then she should be fine. Sometimes isolation makes it worse, especially if the female is social and likes her people where she can see them. It gives her comfort to be able to have you close. Although, she should have her own whelping box and area where she can safely and comfortably whelp her litter.

Of course Murphy's Law being what it is. She will most likely have her pups on the sofa when you're entertaining.
