Bottle feeding Chihuahua puppies

Question
Hello
I was considering getting two Chihuahua puppies that are 2 weeks old their mom died when they were born and they need to be bottle fed. How long would they need night feedings? What are their chances for survival? What would be your advice about this. Thanks

Answer
Hi Jessica

I would look for a female that has just whelped a litter and try and get her to take the pups.

The pups need round the clock feeds for at least another 2 weeks.  You can try them on solids (raw meat) in another week, but they might still be too small.

If your dedicated the rewards can be huge.  It can't hurt to try but you have to be prepared for the off-chance that they won't make it.

Good luck
