My chihuhua is 6 weeks pregnant, i have been closely monitering her lately. I think i felt the puppy moving in her stomach. Her stomach is small , and i know she is pregnant. i laid her on her belly, yesterday and i hear gurgling noises , does this mean that she has more than one pup? we haven't taken a xray yet .
Also she was breed with a red and tan long haired chihuahua male, (vibrant red kinda like a liver color ) with green eyes . I'm not sure about his parent background, but she is a medium coat, i say chocolate but i am told that she is blue, tan , and white with light brown eyes. you can see pics of her here.
her mom was a blue short coat chihuahua and her dad was a black/tan/ white long haired chihuahua.
my second question is what are the possible colors the pups could be? will they be long haired ?
And also what determines if a dog is a double diulte? or a merle? Sorry they are alot of questions but i have been dying to find out some solid answers from someone who knows.
Answercongrats on having pus on the way! the gurgling noise in her stomachs can be from the pups moving around in the fluid or because her stomach is upset. all my dogs stomachs sound wierd when their pregnant. after 50 days i would have an x-ray done to see how many pups she has in there. from my experience that breed usually has between 2 to 4 pups. they can have problems if there is only 1 puppy in there. they should be able to tell by size of pups if she would be fine having them. as far as color you have more of a chance having chocolate and tan then anything else but sometimes they suprise you. they can throw any colors that they are or that their parents are. if their parents are the same color as them then they have a higher chance of having that color pups. im not very familiar with the merle color but if the parents or grand parents of the pups are not merle then the pups couldnt be. i really hope this helps and feel free to ask me any other questions you may have. i have helped whelp over 100 litters of puppies between my dogs and rescues.
