Question
Roxie and the puppies
My dog had a litter of pups 12 days ago and she was having issues with her calcium it was at 8.1 and normal starts at 7.9 so they gave her a calcium injection and I have been giving her vitamins prescribed by the vet as well. I've noticed that when she gets up sometimes her hind legs kind of give out on her. She's never had any kind of problem before its only happened twice and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with her calcium? She's a chihuhua mix about the size of a pug and she's 10 yrs old. I never had intentions of breeding her but some neighbors let their dogs roam the streets.
AnswerWow Roxie and her pups are beautiful! Best Wishes. I think that her age is giving her some problems with the litter. Keep a good watch on her bood levels with your Vet.
Looks like your Vet is doing a good job.
Make sure she is getting x-tra food to help her with whelping the pups.
