Question
I have two blue pitbulls that are brother and sister. I would like to know if it safe for them to be breed. If it is not safe, I would like to know why. Also at what age would they be mature enough for breeding?

Answer
Hi Edgar

Inter-breeding should be done selectively.  If your line has ANY issues, mange, poor temperament, etc. it will be enhanced in the pups.  You are doubling up on the desirable and UNdesireable traits. You have to be prepared to cull the litter.

Each female is different, you want to ensure that your female is both mentally and physically mature to handle whelping and rearing pups.  At least the 2nd or preferably the 3rd heat.

Good luck.
