Breeding my border collie

Question
I have a sable merle border collie bitch.  What are the acceptable colors to breed her to?  I know that another merle is a no-no.

You want to check the lines of the male you choose and ensure that there are no merles back there. It's the double recessive where you run into trouble.

Any other color will be fine, your female will still throw some merle's but they should be fine.
