pekingese first birth

hi ive mated my pekingese for the first time,then after i hear stories that alot of the time they dont do the bag and cord them selfs,that i will probably have to rip the bags and cut the cords myself,i was told to get them out the bags then cut the cord 4 to 5 inches away from the belly button,and give them a rub to make them breath.plus clear their airways of mucus.is this true?i know i will have to be with her from the time her labour starts,but im just trying to get as much info has i can.many thanks

Hi Kelly! From what I know about the breed, it is true. She'll most likely need your help. I'm going to give you a really good web site that has a ton of great information. It has plenty of pictures, and tells you how to cut cords, tear bags, ect. It'll also tell you things you will need to whelp. If I can help with anything else, let me know!
