breeding age

Question
I have a four yr old newfie.she is ofa cert in all fields concerning her breed. she has never been breed.is her age a factor in concieveing? what are the pros and cons concerning ai and surgically inplanted seman? Heather will go into heat july/august. I have lined up two different studs from AKC breeders in my area. I am to visit their kennels in the near future and would like some info before I meet with them                     Thanks Charlie

Kudos to you for getting her OFA and waiting to ensure that she was in top health before breeding and doing your homework with considering a male.

Pro's of A.I.  everything (if you're doing it yourself)
Con's... first time collecting.

Pro's of surgically implanted seman ... get's placed right where it needs to be.
Con's.... Semen is typically frozen, so the viability dips by 25%, major surgery, and expense.

A.I. is extremely efficient, reliable and surprisingly easy to do.
