hi there i have a little chihuahua who is in heat day 13 and is fussing over me she keeps trying to hump my arm and rub herself up and down my dressing gowan she is getting really frustrated with this and wont sit at peace this is her first heat and will be one in april so thay makes her 10 1/2 months now why is she doing this and what should i do about it thanks

Hi Ashley. I'm afraid there's not a whole lot you can do about this. The only cure would be to have her fixed. The reason she's doing this is most likely her hormones. Smaller dogs seem to experience these behaviors more than the larger dogs. If you don't want to have her fixed, you'll just have to ride it out till she goes out of heat. (No pun intended.:-) You can try to distract her when she does this. Get her interested in a favorite toy, or maybe a rawhide, or maybe take her for a walk un your backyard if it's fenced in.
