QuestionQUESTION: I have a 6th month old male pomeranian and a 2 year old female pomeranian in heat, they have locked 3 times that i have seen for 15 min at a time, maybe more? Is he at the wright age to make her become pregnant? Our is he to young to be fertille?
ANSWER: Hi Amanda
Males can produce viable semen at 6 months. However, that being said, doesn't mean you should use a male that young for breeding.
You want to ensure that the male doesn't carry any physical or mental defects that can be passed on.

QUESTION: I did mean to breed him being so young, but will she become pregnant and if she does will this be harmfull to her our the puppys?
AnswerI am of the opinion, that it is never prudent to breed at a young age, and that it is short-sighted and not conducive to improving the breed of choice.
The female and pups should be fine, however the chances of having a large, strong, vigerous litter are slim.
