Question
i took my dog to the vet Saturday, to check her out about having her puppies, later on that day she had a small amount of yellowish mucus coming out. i clean her and then notice last night that it was there again. is this ok? and if this is normal when should she deliver, mating date is unclear, but vet took x rays she has 6 but other than that i don't know? please help.

Answer
Hi Kat

If the vet took x-rays and was able to see skeletal structures of pups then the pups would have to be over 50 days.  Gestation is 63 so pups could come anytime.

Discharge is common in expecting dams but you want to make sure that the color is clear and not black or green. Both are a sign of complications.  Clear or slightly yellow is fine.

Pugs are known for complicated whelp, so you may want to keep your vet on stand by and be prepared.

Good luck.
