dog not became pregnant after mate

hi.. i have a pitbull, and she is 2 and 1/2 years old... i want to breed her, so i hired a dog to mate with my dog... but unfortunately, my dog did not became pregnant.. so i think that the male dog is impotent, so i tried it on other dog but it turn out to be the same.. my dog did not became pregnant.. although her mammary glands swells for a period of time after her mate in male dogs...

what should i do??

Hi Glenn. You say her breasts swell? She may be experiencing false pregnancy. It's when a dog goes through her heat cycle, doesn't become pregnant, but her body thinks she is.

I would suggest taking her to the vet to see what's going on with her. She may have a simple infection that's causing her to not become pregnant. Antibiotics may clear it up, and allow her to successfully breed. At any rate, she really needs to go to the vet to find out for sure what's happening. The vet is the only one that can say for sure if she can, or can't have puppies.
