breeding my dog

could you tell me do you count day one the day you first see blood loss,my dog is on day 12 since the first day of seeing blood loss,have we missed her season this time for breeding as we introduced her to a dog yesterday and the dog showed a lot of interest but she kept sitting down.many thanks

Day 1 is typically the first day you see blood.  Ovulation can occur between days 10 - 17 (or there about).  Day 12 is still early and the blood trickles or stops, usually turning a light pink.

If your female is a maiden, you may have to hold her up to be be bred.
