BostonTerrier in Heat

Hello,

I purchased my boston terrier when she was about 5 mths old.  I have had her for four months now (so she is 9 mths old at this time).  When I got her...she was just ending her first heat cycle.  She is now having another heat cycle.  I thought that they came every 6 or more months not 4 months.  Is this normal?

Hi. Sometimes when they first start their cycles, it can be a bit odd. It may be normal for her, and she'll settle into a more normal cycle as she gets older. However, if she starts to bleed then stops, or acts off, or the discharge has a foul smell, then get her to the vet, she may have had an infection that needs looking in to. Good luck.
