Chihuahua bleeding 3 weeks after giving birth to 3 puppies.

I am getting a Chihuahua puppy from someone I work with and she told me today that the mother (Chloe) has recently started bleeding. It's not excessive, just a little bit of blood. She's worried because Chloe had the 3 puppies 3 weeks ago today. She wanted me to find out why Chloe might be bleeding. Chloe is a young mother (she is not quite a year yet), but she did well during the birth, and she has been a great mother. Is she just bruised on the inside? How long does the bleeding normally last, and is it normal? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Was she vet checked after delivery? She could have a piece of tissue still insde that is causing her cervix not to close. Or she could be developing an infection. How is her behavior otherwise? Temp normal? Eating normally? Not drinking a ton of water? Does she seem to feel ok? I would have her vet checked just to be sure that all is well inside. Sometimes heavy nursing can cause bleeding but not usually after this long. Is it bright red? If it is I would take her ASAP. Don't let the weekend and Christmas catch her in an emergency
