Labrador and Tie Out

Question
I have my Lab on a heavy cable, 20' tie-out.  I have since replaced the cable because twice my dog has gotten loose.  The cable was not broken or damaged.  The clip was fine, closed, with the spring intact.  Can lab's figure out how to release themselves?   Either I have neighbors causing a problem or a Houdini lab!  Have you ever encountered something similar?  If so, are there products to help secure the tie-out spring clips?

Answer
Hi Cos

In my opinion, those cables don't work with beans.

What you need is a chain attached to a pole / tree / building with a spring so the dog gets a release.  Also you want to make sure there is a strong swivel on the end so the dog doesn't get choked.

Barring that, a 8 foot kennel with a cement pad might work.

Good luck.
