First time Mum digging after whelping

Hi Joyce, I have a golden retriever bitch who has had 10 puppies to our labrador dog.  When ever she goes outside she is constantly digging, in the same areas that she was digging before whelping.  Any suggestions as to why she is doing this AND how we can try to stop her from doing this?  Many thanks

That behavior typically means that the location where she's digging, is where she wants to raise her pups.

You can add water or her waste to the spot.  That will stop the digging.  You also might want to supplement her with some vitamin B to even her out.
