happy daddy

I hope this question is not too silly but what do I do with daddy dog........I have both mum and dad and they live eat and sleep as a pair....she is a toy poodle and he is a jack russel....they adore each other....but if she decides he is not allowed on the sofa then on the floor he stays till he licks her ear and all is well again........my question is should he be kept apart from mum during the  birthing process and the pups when they are born... they are due in the next week or so

Hi, sorry this is late. I would keep him away from mom while she's whelping, she'll most likely won't want any other dog around her or her puppies, even if they are close most of the time. You want to keep her calm and quiet, and another dog around may upset her. She may even growl or even try to bite the male dog, their attirudes change quite a lot after giving birth. Good luck!
