MOTHER BEAGLE VOMITING

QUESTION: MY 3 YEAR OLD FEMALE BEAGLE HAD 6 PUPPIES EXACTLY 3 WEEKS AGO! SHE ALL OF A SUDDEN IS VOMITING UP EVERYTHING FOR ALMOST 2 DAYS NOW.  SHE WON'T DRINK HER WATER ( WHICH I PUT GATORADE INTO ).  SHE STILL KEEPS TRYING TO EAT EVERYTHING BUT NOTHING STAYS DOWN.  OUR LOCAL VET THINKS IT MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH HER CLEANING UP ALL THE FECES OF HER PUPS. i TRIED GIVING HER SOME COOKED RICE WITH CHICKEN BROTH & STILL NO LUCK. SHE HAS NOT GOTTEN INTO ANYTHING HARMFUL SUCH AS CLEANING PRODUCTS OR INSECTICIDES.  WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Have the pups been dewormed?  And is she vomiting for the pups to eat or just throwing up bile?

QUESTION: The pups are only three weeks old.  They are still nursing. she is vomiting bile or whatever food she eats. She is not vomiting for pups.  Nothing will stay down. No the puppies have not been dewormed.  Isn't three weeks too young for dewormer. Also, all of our dogs are on heartguard and frontline. She did get a heartguard pill 3 days ago. They have never made her vomit before. She doesn't seem stressed out.  The vet suggested not feeding her for the night & giving her some Gatorade to drink. Also they suggested giving her some pepto bismal.  Have you ever tryed giving a dog mint flavored pink Pepto Bismal? She won't touch it!

It's never to young to deworm.  Some worms lay dormant in the muscle of a female and are revived when a pregnancy occurs.   The worms end up in the pups and it's a vicious cycle trying to get rid of them.

A light diet of steamed rice may help her stomach.  If she started getting sick after the pill, that may have contributed to it.  You can use a syringe to insert the Pepto right into her mouth.
