rat terriers and whelping

Question
I have a 2 year old female rat terrier that i breed and im pretty sure that shes pregnant. she goes to the vet next week. But i was just wondering if rat terriers have a hard time whelping because i know that some breeds do. I am use to breeding labs and helping with the whelping but this is my first time with my rat terrier. thanks

Hi Whitney

Most of the Terrier breeds can just pop out their pups without much effort or complication.  You do however, want to make sure she's staying active and not over-eating or on puppy food.  That makes the pups grow bigger resulting in a more strenuous whelping.
