border terrier bitch

hello i hope you can help us,
we rescued this dog 2 months ago and were told she was about 12 months old,
we were caring for another terrier when we brought her home and straight away the dog mated with her although he had been neutered we therfore assumed that she was on heat
and took the dog back to the owners.
now two months later she has started with a discharge and a small amount of blood,so now we are assuming she must be on heat again.
does this make sense when from the information we have looked at on the internet seem to say that normaly they should come on heat every six months.
i would be most grateful for your advice,

She could've have had a split cycle., It happens very often, especially with a first heat. Since she is a young bitch that's very possible.
Sometimes neutered dogs just don't know they are neutered :).
