mucous discharge

My bitch is 58 days pregnant.  On Monday (54 days), I noticed her back side was covered with what I thought was loose stools.  I cleaned her up and cut her hair on her back side to prevent this from happening again.  Well, it has continued and is actually becoming more frequent.  
It appears to be her mucous plug as it is very stingy.  However, it is kind of green/black in color.  Is this normal or would this indicate an infection?  

Her temps have been slowly going down over the past 2 days and I am hoping this is a sign that labor is soon.

Hi Denise.  I'm sorry for the delay in replying to your question.  I am having a new floor installed in my home and the darn contractors keep disconnecting my internet cable and my phone lines (ugh).

Enough about my problems, lets talk about your new mommy.  When you wrote you mentioned that she is at day 58 in her pregnancy.  Has she had her litter yet?  If so, how is she and the new puppies doing?  Is there any questions that I can help you with?

I look forward to hearing from you soon, and again want to apologize for the delay in getting in touch with you.  The contractors are about finished, and I think I will not have any more problems with my internet.
