after delivery

Hello,my dog delivered her pups along.  When I went outside to check on her the she had already delivered.  I noticed a green discharge on her coat.  I also wiped her and it was green.  That was this morning.  I checked on her 3hours later and she no longer has a green discharge,but continues to bleed every now and then.  Should I be concerned?

Hi Stephanie.  It is completely normal for your new mommy to have both green and or a red colored discharge after giving birth.  This discharge will probably last for about a week and will gradually become lighter and possibly turn clear.  If, the discharge develops a foul odor and turns black or tar like, you should contact your veterinarian.
