after birth

My female Rotti just gave birth two days ago.  She had 11 pups but the last one was still born.  We are still missing 1 placenta.  She is having a hard time laying down to nurse her pups.  We almost have to force her to lay down to nurse them, but once she is down it seems to be going ok.  She is also having a black / greenish color discharge, is this normal?

Did she expel the afterbirth too?  Black/green is not a color you want to see.

You may need to get a shot of oxytocin for her to make sure she's cleaned out.

There is no way that she is going to be able to nurse and clean 10 pups at one time.  You are best to rotate them in groups. Dividing them in half and taking half away and placing them in a warming box.  Give them 30 - 40 shifts.
