Question
1. how do you identify a good breeder?

2. if breeders dont breed for making money then why do they charge for the puppies?

3. where does the money go after the buyrer gave the breeder money

is it the law for breeders to show there dogs

Answer
1. You have to make your own judgement call.  A good breeder can be a larger or small breeder.  Test their dogs, has a passion for their breed, has good references, the list is endless.

2. At the end of the day, there may or may not be money to be had in breeding.  After you factor in, as in any business, vet cost, food, advertising, kennels, upgrading, health testing, etc., etc., etc.   It also good to remember the old motto "you get what you pay for".  There is something to be had for paying for experience. A breeder that doesn't know the lines of his choosen breed, the health issues, the background, etc. may be one to stay away from.

What you want to do is check with your breed of choice club.  Learn their by-laws.  Contact the AKC or CKC and learn their by-laws.
