my mals had pups

hi
my female mal just gave birth (2 days ago)to 6 healthy pups, how soon can i reunite the mum and dad as the dad is going beserk being seperated from her??

how can we stop him howling???

can she get pregnant again now???

is it ok for her to be running around now???

Hi Jenny

Your female should just want to be with her pups.  And I would NOT introduce the male to the pups until they are at least 4 - 5 weeks.  They could go out together but again, your female should only want to be with her pups.

She won't come into heat for another two months and dogs breed for procreation not recreation.  

As for the howling. Try giving him Vitamin B or St. John's Wort to help calm him down.
