breeding my beagles

I have been trying to breed my female beagle to my male beagle she is now in heat and he doesnt seem to be able to hit the spot,although he tries we have had no success, is there anthing i can do to help this process or just wait for them to do their thing??????????????

Hi Jeff

What day is she at?  If you start trying to early they will both get frustrated.  Best to leave them apart for 24 hours and then bring them together for 30 minutes at a time.

You can also try holding the female across your lap. Using your knees to lower and raise her.  Bring the male around to the business end and you can guide the male in and hold them together until a lock occurs.
