Question
i need some typical referance for breeding my female pembroke corgi ( something online )?  or you could possibly answer a question:

when should we bring her to a stud for breeding, or when wouldd we know when to start the process?

we were planning on doing it this spring, probably start whenever her spring heat comes in to play.  she will be 1.75 years old and on probably her 3rd or 4th heat.

Answer
Most people breed their dogs on days 11 and 13, or on days 12 and 14 of the heat cycle. The trick is to keep a really good eye out when you think she should start her heat cycle so you know for sure what day she's on. When it's the right time of her cycle to breed her, her bleeding will lighten in color and flow. She'll start to flag and stand for the male. Some girls do ovulate early or late into their cycle, so also watch for her to flag. You can have progesterone testing done to tell you exactly when to breed, if you want to do that. However, you have to start it pretty early. I'll give you some web sites to look over, and one on progesterone also. Good luck!
