hi there, my akita bitch is heavily pregnant but i do not know when to remove her mate from her living quarters and wether he can ever be introduced to the puppies?

If she's ok with him for now, let them stay together. When her labor starts, remove him from her room, and keep him away. Mom most likely won't want him near her puppies til they get older. It depends on mom when he can be introduced to the puppies. Some dogs are laid back, and don't care. Most don't want any other dogs around them until they're about 5 weeks. You may want to try then.
