mom leaves her pup for long periods

Question
Should my dog be leaving her 2 week old pup to go sleep in the laundry pile by herself?  Should I do something for the pup to keep it warm or is mama trying to tell me the pup is hot????

Hi Lana. As long as the puppies are being feed plenty, and they're not crying, then I would let mom have her peace. You can put a 2 liter bottle with warm water in it, in the puppies' box while mom is out. Cover it with a towel or blanket. That way the pups can cuddle up to it if they get cold, or move away from it if they get too warm. Like I said though, as long as pups are fed, and clean, let mom have some alone time. :-)
