I was told today that Bichon's birth more males than females. Is this true?

I don't belive that's a correct statement.  What is this statement based on?  How many Bichon where included in the "test"? Where was the test conducted? Or is this just a generalization?  

It is all about the X chromosome and Y chromosome.  The male controls the sexes and the female the numbers.
