my girl had her last heat 9 months ago and had a litter well over a year ago and did amazing.she kinda started bleeding monday morning its old dark blood right now,so do i start counting from then? and heat they say lasy 14 to 21 days  so its been a while for me sorry but is the day she starts bleeding considerd day 1? we have a new stud this time around he is 2 years old but this will be his first litter and i worry he may not know what to do ? so what day's are we at and what day once i realize we are at should they breed? how many times should i let them mate she had nine perfect goldens last time so please tell me as much as posible of days heat starts when to get them together and so i can keep track of days i wish i rememberd from last time, thanks

If you are not doing progesterone testing, you can assume that her first day of bleeding is day 1.

Bring them together starting day 9, it may be still early but your female will let your male know if it's time by flagging and standing.  Between days 12 and 15 and optimum, but because females ovulate differently it's better to start early.

If you get a breeding, only once a day is all you need.  Because it takes a lot out of a male, it best to let him rest with 24 hours in between.
