QuestionAt what age do I breed boston terrir?
AnswerHi Debra. Most female dogs go in to heat at around 6 months, and most male dogs can produce a litter at 6 months also. For this reason, many vets and animal shelters recommend that, if you are going to have your dog spay/neutered to do it at 16 weeks (4 months).
I lot of breeders, myself included, will hold off and not breed their females until their second heat (at approx. 1 yr. of age), and not stud the male until he is 1 yr. old also.
Good luck, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions.
Sincerely,
Penny DiLoreto
