hello i had a few questions tyra is 59 days pregnant and maybe its just me being nervous and anxus but in the past couple of days she has started to act funny just yesterday she has been acting like she was afraid to have a bowl movement and today when i took her out to go potty i noticed she had clear slimy mucus like stuff when she was done peeing lol her body temp has been up and down from 100.6 on Mon and 99.9 from Tues to now is there anyother symptoms to look for other that whats on line for it really doesn't seem to be a lot i have also noticed when she trys to to pass a bowel she doesn't like me to be to close as before she has never cared and she has ben trying to get into the brush on the property line and she has never been interested it the brush

Hi. The slimy mucus stuff you saw may have been her mucus plug. If that's what it was, she may go into labor within 24-48 hours. The hard part about telling you what to look for, is that every girl is different. Some dogs will go off their feed, some will want to eat during whelping. She should start to pant like crazy, and maybe even dig about 24 hours before she actually whelps. If you're going to go by the temp, you need to take it twice a day, once in the morning, once in the evening. When it drops to 98 or lower, then labor should start shortly. Normal pre-labor signs are panting heavily, digging, can't get comfortable, will usually quit eating. However, your girl may exhibit different signs. She may get anxious, whiney, doesn't want you out of her signt. I'd say to get her box ready, and make sure you have everything you need. It sounds like it shouldn't be too much longer. Good luck!
