Question
Hello,
I have a West Highland White Terrier who gave birth this morning to two boys and one girl.
All the babies came out of mother breach, and since then the girl (first out) continually screams. She seems to want to feed, but will not feed from mum, or a bottle.
I have managed to give her a small amount of food, and I have checked the temperature in the room is ok.
Please give your advice.

Answer
Hi Marie. Sorry for taking a bit to get back to you. First thing you need to do is to take the pup's temp to see if her body temp is too low. If it is, slowly warm her up and then try to feed her again. Second, check her mouth for any deformities. Third, call the vet. If you warm her up, and her mouth is ok, and she's still screaming, she needs to get to the vet to figure out what's going on. She may have something going on inside of her that we can't see. A healthy, normal newborn is content. It may cry for a minute or two, but will curl up and fall asleep. I hope the pup is ok.
