Question
I was told by a breeder that you have to wait until 13 days after the first bleeding occurs during the heat cycle to inseminate. But my vet told me that you have to wait until they stop bleeding to inseminate. Which is the correct answer?

Answer
HI Heidi. If you wait until she stops bleeding, then you may miss her cycle. Most breeders try on days 11 and 13, or on days 12 and 14 of the heat cycle. The bleeding will lighten in color and frequency when it's the right part of the cycle to be bred.
