Hi my cavalier king charles had 8 puppies 3 days ago all is ok with mum and pups, im worried that earlier i was rubbing her belly while she was feeding the pups and i thought i felt a sausage tube like shape in her belly! this couldnt be a pup still inside her??

Hi Phil

Did your female expel the afterbirth and all the placenta's?  The sausage shape you may have felt could have been her kidney.  Were you feeling down the center of her belly or the sides?

If you didn't take her to the vet, you might want to consider a quick trip for a dose of oxytocin, this will clear out any thing left behind from the birthing process.
