Question
hi i have bred my boxer bitch, her appetite had increased aloft. she had put allot of weight on around the rib cage, but at eight weeks the puppies still hasn't dropped into position. im now thinking that she isn't in whelp after all her teats are a pinky colour but haven't filled up with milk. she has been bred before by her previous owners so her teats do hang a bit so its very difficult to tell by her teats alone. i would be very grateful for any input you might have.
kind regards
Paula

Answer
Hi Paula. Boxer girls can mess with you.:-) They can carry their pups up high, making you sure she's not pregnant. When she hits day 50, you can have some x-rays done to tell for sure. She may just be having a small litter. as for her milk, some girls don't get milk in till a few days before whelping, some wait until they whelp. So, don't go by milk alone. If you really have to know, then have the x-rays done. That's honestly the only way to tell for sure with some girls. I wouldn't give up hope yet. Good luck!
