stud dog seems too little

i have just taken my yorkie bitch to her stud, but unfortunatly he cant seem to penetrate her, my bitch is taller than the stud, is there a way round this height issue or will they get there naturally, how often and how long should i leave her with him, thanks in advance claire

You need to raise the male up because he is NEVER going to get there on his own.

You can do the breeding on a slope, raise the male with pillows or folded towels.

Try sitting on the ground with your female, brace her across your knees using your knees as a lever to lower and raise her.  Bring the male around to the business end (with him standing on his platform) and you can adjust the height accordingly.
