Question
QUESTION: Hi, My staffordshire bullterrior is around a year & 4months old & she is pregnant. I think she may be due in around 2weeks, but she has had abit of clear discharge, is this normal?

ANSWER: Hi Hannah-Jane

The discharge is her mucus plug, typically it starts to expel from her body about 10 days prior to whelping.

It's all good and all normal.  Just make sure it stays clear and doesn't turn a black/green.

Good luck

QUESTION: Ok thankyou for getting back to me.
sorry,  just to be sure, she is ready to start labour in 10days?

ANSWER: Mother Nature is funny that way.  The waiting is hardest.  But in my experience the plug can discharge up to 10 days prior she starts her whelp, yes.

QUESTION: I am really sorry about this, but this is my first time & obviously her first time. So i am not completly clued in about all this!
she could start whelping anytime from now & 10days, is that correct?
and what do you mean by, the plug can discharge?

Answer
Don't be sorry, how will you know the answers if you don't ask the questions? :-)

The mucus plug comes out.  It's normal and nothing to worry about.

Her body is just getting ready to deliver her pups. I can't give you an exact day, but you can expect it to be within the next 2 weeks.
