preg bitch temp 98.3 for 24hours

QUESTION: my blue nose 2 year old is pregnant and her temp has been at 98.3 for 24hours she has not eaten is getting restless and panting and heavy heavy breathing, very lose stool white in color. How much time do you think I have before she delivers?

ANSWER: Hi Danielle,  Things sound great and it appears to be the onset of whelp.

Do you have a whelping box for her to nest in?  If not, give her a corner with old towels and sheets. She most likely, will start delivering this evening (it's hard to tell in exact hours)or early tomorrow morning.

If things seem to "stall", you can take her for short walks.

QUESTION: yes she does have a whelping box, since ihave sent this email she has vomited and more lose stool, at this time she is laying down now but it dripping from her vuvla and has a very watering mouth. should i take her on a small walk to maybe speed things along
ANSWER: I would say wash your hands because things are moving!  Vomiting is common as is the loose stool -- no red flags there.   

You can give her vanilla ice cream if you have, or just plain ice cubes...it will help cool her off and hydrate her.

If she's laying down, let her a half hour to see how things progress -- the walking just helps gravity and stimulates movement.

QUESTION: i have gone through this before with another female i have but this dogs pregnancy has been totally different from the last. Will all dogs shiver, she has not began that stage yet if so but she is panting harder and harder. she seems to be staring off into space and just sitting. Should i sit in the room with her or just keep an eye on her. Sorry i am stressed and my husband is out of town, i have a friend here to help by waiting is just making things worse.

Honestly, the best thing is to make 2 bowls of ice cream, one for her and one for you.  The waiting is the worst because then you start imagining the all kinds of scenarios.

You can sit with her and give her a massage, it will help both you keep your mind of what's happening.
