Boxer in labor 1st litter

My boxer is in labor digging papers and panting heavy since about 11:00 this morning. No puppies yet but she is having long sleeps. I walk her each time she wakes up, she comes back in digs her papers and goes back to sleep. I can tell she is have contractions but they are pretty far apart. I have bred smaller breeds but this is my first boxer. Is this common it is now almost 9pm and nothing. She is sleeping better than me LOL!

Hi Carol. LOL these girls will drive you crazy! She could do this behavior up to 24 hours before actually giving birth. If she hasn't done anything yet, call your vet and see what he thinks. I'd say though, that by now things are under way. Good luck!!
