breeding for color

Question
i have two mini schnauzers.  one is white carrying for brown, one is brown carrying for white.  What color pups will i get?  I assumed solid browns and solid whites, and any other standard colors that they both carry the gene for (s&p, black, b&s).  This one "knowledgeable" breeder is trying to scare me by telling me that i will get spotted puppies, or more like white dogs with brown spots.  I dont believe it.  Who is right?

Answer
Hi Carla

It's important to never breed for color.  Temperament should always be the priority.

Color is always dominant to white.  If you have white on both sides, you will get white. Other factors that come into play are colors for at least 3 generations on both sides and if you are line-breeding a certain dog.  If you are out-crossing, you can get a whole rainbow of colors each time you breed.

Hope that helps.
