older dog

Question
yellow lab retriver female, almost 17yrs old.
Just started heavy bleeding. She has never been this heavy, and cycles have been far and few between, or so light that is it not noticed.
Why sudden heavy bleeding? Could be cancer related?
She has also grown tags(?) recently, more like bumps, growth up to marble sized, toalt of 4. One on nipple, 3 around spine. Growths and cylce bleeding related?
