dog gave birth, still shivering?

Question
My dam started giving birth today at 2:30pm and finished at 4:15pm she had a total of 7. i just went in to check on her( 4.5 hrs later) and noticed that she is slightly shivering. I was not aware that i could take her in for an X-Ray but I'm pretty sure all have come out and I can't feel any when i push on her. While she was in labor i felt her belly each time and could still feel kicks until the 7th one came so I'm pretty sure she was the last. The vet's are close until Monday(its sat night) i just want to see if this shivering is normal. Thanks for your help, i check the computer often! :D

Answer
Hi Ashley, The after-birth needs to all be expelled, too.  If she still has retained some of this tissue and fluid she can get an infection.  If she is still shivering call your nearest emergancy Vet for a check-up.  They may need to start her on a shot of antibiotics today.

Sorry, it's too hard to say ......so many things can go wrong.

When she is feeling better, please start her on some supplements and a good quality puppy food.
( or mix her adult food with puppy food for x-tra calories)

I hope it was just stress and she is better today.  Monitor her very close.
