Pregnant dog questions

We have an 8 month old Miniature Schnauzer and think she's pregnant. Is 8 months to young?? She looks like she has a balloon towards her back end. Her front end is still the same. Is that normal? What should our next step be? I just want to make sure that she is healthy and everything is ok.

Hi Whitney. 8 months is very young to be having puppies, she's still a puppy herself. I'd take her in to the vet for a check up just to make sure everything's ok, especially because of her age. You'll need to keep in close contact with your vet through this pregnancy. Make sure she gets plenty of exercise. I'd take her in for a visit, and talk to your vet about any health concerns that she has, and find out what your vet thinks needs to happen for your girl during her pregnancy. He knows her best, and knows of any health problems that she may have that could cause complications. I would also ask about c-sections, his procedure and the price just in case she needs one.
