pom pregnant with first litter

my pom is pregnant with her first litter, my male pom is smaller than her and she is only 51 days pregnant but the last 24 hours she has been nesting and trying to hide in very small places. and a couple hours ago i noticed that she had clear slimmy discharge, i so nervse that if she goes into labour this early there could be complications, so i guess my question is do u think she could be in premature labour and what should i do to help her?

Hi. The clear slimy discharge may be her mucus plug, or it may be a normal discharge pregnant dogs get sometimes. Is it thick, and is there a lot of it? If so, then I would think mucus plug. If a dog has her pups before day 58, then the pups don't have much of a chance of making it, so if we can get her to that day, that would be best. Try keeping her quiet. I would also call the vet, he may want to see her. Sadly, there's not a lot we can do if they decide to go into labor early. If she does, then we need to figure out what caused it if we can. Sometimes an infection may do it. Please let me know what happens.
